While hosting the second-best mid-morning weekend comedy programme on the not-hugely-successful BBC6Music digital radio station has not brought Jon Richardson nationwide celebrity, his is a name that comedy fans should take note of.

Richardson is fast making a reputation for himself as one of the UK’s most promising young comedians, and he certainly has the potential to be one of this year’s Fringe highlights. His 2009 offering looks set to follow the path laid down by his two previous, highly acclaimed Fringe shows, with the lion's share of material revolving around his self-imposed isolation (he lives alone in his Swindon flat) and the strange, absurd thoughts he entertains while keeping himself company.

Although not a cosy member of the TV panel-show circuit, with an array of awards under his belt Richardson is definitely one to watch out for this August.
