Who said vegetarian food has to be boring? Heavyweight Indian Restaurant Kalpna has been dishing up an inspired menu since first opening its doors over 25 years ago, turning even the staunchest of carnivores.

With vegetarian and vegan thalis giving the chance to sample different dishes all at once, as well as house specialities such as Dam Aloo Gobi and Bindi Masala, head chef and owner Ajay has expertly cornered his market.

The family-run business is polite and friendly – and unusually for an Indian restaurant in this part of town, there’s not a stag party in sight.
