They say that video killed the radio star, but trying telling that to Scouting For Girls: turn on a wireless anywhere and it won't be long before they pop up. Now with three top ten singles under their belt, the London-based trio have had extensive exposure on both radio and TV. They are sure to delight when they breeze into Edinburgh with their infectious brand of sunshine pop, which is guaranteed to brighten up even the gloomiest corner of Gorgie when they play the Corn Exchange on 7 August.

Expect all the favourites from their self-titled debut album, including their top ten singles, 'She's So Lovely', 'Elvis Aint Dead' and 'Heartbeat'. This band have a knack for infusing credible pop harmonies with irritatingly catchy choruses, plus frequent dustings of 'oohs' 'aahs' and plenty of 'la-la-las' thrown in for good measure.

Scouting For Girls are the antithesis of the introspective, melancholic folk of other performers as this year's Edge Festival, however what they may lack in depth, they more than make up for in enthusiasm. The band obviously had plenty of fun creating such infectious melodies and the cheeky, child-like naivety of their lyrics suggests the they have tongues planted firmly in cheeks.

If breezy, catchy pop tickles your fancy, Scouting For Girls are sure to bring some much-needed sunshine to Scotland's unpredictable summer weather.
