How did the Mr Clown show come about?

My four year old daughter, Ava, is obsessed and in love with Mr Clown and he’s really good at teaching kids things and I thought Ava’s a pretty discerning audience so we should do a show together!

What sort of kid would love your show?

All kids would love it, it’s fun and educational. They learn about manners, the alphabet and the 100 most important sight words, which will help them so much when they learn to read. And they get to do this with music, videos and Mr Clown!

Have does Edinburgh mean to you?

I was here in 2010 with my solo show but year I’m doing both shows. All I do is eat sugar here, so what I am dreading most is being around all of my favorite childhood foods. My weakness is Walnut Whips.

Through your career, what has been the most enjoyable or rewarding experience you’ve had with children so far?

I got to be in a Sesame Street video once, and my favorite moment was when the puppet said to me, “Caroline, bring it down, keep it real with the acting.”

But also, being on Sabrina for seven years was amazing and so rewarding.

Do people still come up to you as Aunt Hilda and ask you to do magic?

Every day! The boy who I bought my new phone from could not believe I couldn’t figure out how to use my phone because I was a witch and I could do magic. When I told him “I’m sorry I just can’t figure it out” he said “Well, call Aunt Zelda!”

This year all of the kids’ shows will be reviewed by our ten-strong Kid’s Panel; Fest Force! If you were a superhero what would you be called and what would be your super power?

I would definitely be called CANDY PRINCESS! And I would be able to make kids resist candy, which is what I need in Edinburgh. I need to be with the Candy Princess at all times, to keep me away from those Walnut Whips.
