The Magnets

A “six-strong vocal super group”, The Magnets are one of the better-known harmony groups to descend on the Fringe this year. With a set that includes songs from artists ranging from Blur to Beyoncé, The Magnets are a contemporary, pop-centric outfit with their collective fingers firmly on the fun button.

Alternotive a Capella

The award-winning Oxford Alternotives are, apparently, the oldest a cappella group in Oxford, making their name singing everything from pop to funk and soul to r'n'b in their signature comedic style. As well as becoming something of a fixture at the Fringe, the globe-trotting Alternotives have performed at both the White House and the Empire State Building.

a Capella with Cattitude

Pun-heavy University of St Andrews a cappella group The Alleycats pulled off a remarkable success with their 2010 show Cat Touch This and now they're back for more. With a varied repertoire stretching from The Killers to Elton John via Adele, the Fife close-harmony singers are both refreshingly self-aware and entirely unapologetic about their love of the a cappella form.
