An Exhibition of Artworks by Daphne Rickett and Rose Ward

Daphne Rickett and Rose Ward are long-time friends and artists who use painting as a strategy for gathering and yarning with other women. Daphne is a Kaurna, Ngarrindjeri and Latji Latji woman born in the Riverland, Waikerie, SA. She has lived by the rivers and the oceans and her Dreaming stories are about fish, water and her ancestors. Rose was born in Subiaco, Western Australia and identifies as a Noongar woman with family linked to Streaky Bay. Rose enjoys painting as therapy to battle depression and as a tool for relaxation. This exhibition presents a collaborative series of artworks based around their relationship.
