Artists and demonstrators, Iteka & Temaana Sanderson-Bromley & mentor Liz Wauchope host an exciting interactive experience focused on bush foods & exploring Indigenous cultural themes of place and identity. Weekly workshops, demonstrations by elders from the Yuratu-Mathana collective, cultural talks & participatory large scale silk paintings.
Visitors to the gallery will be invited to join in with the artists and work on stretched frames up to 6 metres long. As they create art together, the artists will explain the cultural meanings, uses & places of origin of the pictures & symbols.
The exhibition will grow as wall hangings generated by the workshops/demonstrations are included & displayed in the gallery. These collaborative group works will be for sale via an online silent auction.
Exhibition Opening Saturday 15th February at 9am.
