What's he building in there?

Suburban garages are at their best when used to store secrets and mysteries. This exhibition of drawings, encaustic paintings and collage by James Parker and John Whitney investigates the conundrum of “If your cars not in the garage - what is?” While positing what could be inside, the artists suggest that a garage's exterior - whether slick, run down or over engineered - doesn't necessarily reflect what's inside. Using Tom Waits' “Whats he building in there” (off the Mule Variations album -1999) as a starting point, the artists work with urban archeology, mystery and myth to relate their findings on a truely suburban scale.
